Program Foundation

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a comprehensive healthcare reform law enacted in the United States in March 2010. Its primary goals are to improve the quality and affordability of health insurance, expand access to healthcare, and reduce overall healthcare costs for individuals and the government. Attentive leverages this landmark program to provide valuable benefits to your school district or business.
AFFORDABLE CARE ACT of 2010
SIMRP

It stands for Self-Insured Medical Reimbursement Plan (SIMRP) and was purposely created, fully researched, and found compliant with IRC 213(d), 106(a), 105(b), 1.105-ll(i) and 104(a)(3) codes, and all applicable IRS memos, ERISA regulations, HIPAA, and the ADA. SIMRP Preventative Care Management Program is a total approach to living a healthier lifestyle. It is the industry's leading edge and compliant solution for employers and employees.
MEDICAL REIMBURSEMENT PLAN
Employer Benefits

The Attentive Program© always works alongside a medical insurance plan approved by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Together, they form an integrated benefits plan called a "105 plan."
When employees pay for the plan through payroll deductions, the cost is taken out before taxes are applied (pre-tax). This is allowed under IRS rules (Section 106(a)), which state that the value of wellness programs that include medical care can be excluded from an employee's taxable income. This pre-tax setup reduces taxable income, saving both employees and employers money.
ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SERVICES
Employer Savings

By allowing employees to pay for certain benefits, such as health insurance, with pre-tax dollars, employers can reduce their payroll tax liability. For example, employers can save approximately $500 to $590 per employee each year on payroll taxes due to the lower taxable wages resulting from these pre-tax deductions.
Reduced Taxable Income: Contributions made to a Section 125 plan can lower an employer's overall taxable income. As a result, when filing taxes, the employer reports a lower income, potentially leading to a reduced tax bill.
PAYROLL TAX SAVINGS
Measurable Benefits

Since the taxable wages are reduced, employers also pay less in Medicare and Social Security taxes, further contributing to their overall tax savings. Overall, these mechanisms allow employers to effectively manage their tax liabilities while providing valuable benefits to their employees without reducing the employees' net take-home pay and offering measurable advantages to the employer:
Significant Reduction in Human Capital Expense
Better Loss Ratio on Health Plan
Improved Renewal Outcomes
Healthier Employees
Increased Employee Engagement
Drastically Improved Worker Productivity
MEDICARE & SOCIAL SECURITY TAXES
